UA3 is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization founded in 2015. The organization is committed to making lasting impacts in underserved communities through "youth empowerment, education, health, and mental health awareness, socio-economic opportunities, and channeling resources to those in need. In response to the COVID - 19 pandemic," UA3 created the Community First Food Pantry and the Feed the Heroes Program. Since then, UA3 "have distributed more than $10 million worth of food, 400,000 hand sanitizers, and 6 million masks across all five boroughs."
Community First Food Pantry
The Community First Food Pantry serves seniors and economically vulnerable members in the underserved communities throughout New York City. The program first started in Chinatown in April 2020 and spread quickly throughout New York City to help combat food insecurity in many underserved communities. Every Tuesday and Thursday, UA3 distributes fresh fruits, vegetables, eggs, milk, and countless other food at their various distribution sites across the city. Food pickup is between 11:00 AM to 3:30 PM by appointment only. (Subject to change.)
Purvey'd is proud to support UA3's Community First Food Pantry through our weekly donations via our parent company, Tay Shing Corporation. Twice a week, we will arrange a produce donation for UA3 to help support the community. Periodically, we will deliver the produce donations to the distribution site to help ease the distribution process.
